An MIT engineer builds his own bionic leg prosthesis

Publié le 03 Mai 2026

Information

Video published by Bloomberg

In this video, Alan Jeffries introduces us to the M.I.T Media Lab in Boston in Massachusetts.

A technical engineer, Everett Lawson, shows us a prototype he built himself for his own body. It can replace his leg and also let him feel, through electrical impulses, what is happening on the sole of the bionic foot.

Other prostheses allow the foot to be moved with the mind by using atrophied muscles in the amputated leg.

There is still undoubtedly progress to be made, but science moves forward a little more every day.
